Understanding OEKO-TEX Certification

OEKO-TEX is one of the most recognized textile safety certifications in the world. The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certifies that every component of a finished product — fabric, lining, thread, even buttons — has been tested against a list of harmful substances.

For apparel brands, OEKO-TEX matters for two reasons. First, it gives your customers confidence that your products are safe next to their skin. Second, it simplifies compliance with retail and marketplace requirements that increasingly demand certified materials.

When evaluating suppliers, do not stop at a single certificate. Ask which OEKO-TEX class the product is certified to, whether the certificate covers your specific fabric construction, and how often re-certification happens. Reputable suppliers renew annually and can show you the current certificate number, which you can verify online.

At Shenze, our functional knitted fabrics are developed with OEKO-TEX-relevant materials and tested to international standards, so you can bring products to market with confidence.
